The mafia-turned-politician has at least 70 cases registered against him, including the 2005 murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal in Allahabad. The Uttar Pradesh Police has so far arrested 89 members of his gang and either confiscated or destroyed his illegal assets worth over Rs 3.25 billion. Additionally, the UP government canceled the arms licenses of 60 henchmen of the jailed former Samajwadi Party MP. The ADG also confirmed that around 203 FIRs have been registered against members and associates of 515 different criminal gangs involved in various offences. Though the ADG has released the details of the seized properties of only 4 notorious mafias and their accomplices out of 25 mafias in the state, the names of others have not been disclosed.
