WTC Final: BJ Watling leaves MS Dhoni behind, today is the last Test

The final of the World Test Championship is being played between India and New Zealand. The match seems to be heading towards a draw. Meanwhile, New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman BJ Watling is playing his last Test match. Even before the series against England, BJ Watling had announced that he would announce his retirement from Test cricket after the final of the World Test Championship. In his last match, BJ Watling has left behind the record of taking most wickets in Test career. Now BJ Watling has reached number six in terms of taking the most catches in Test cricket.

Former India captain MS Dhoni took 256 catches in 75 matches in his Test career. Now 257 catches have been taken in the name of BJ Watling. He has now come at number six in terms of taking the most catches in Test cricket. He made this new record by catching the catch of Ravindra Jadeja. BJ Watling had announced that he would retire from cricket after the World Test Championship (WTC) final. About 35-year-old BJ Watling has played 75 Tests and 28 ODIs for New Zealand so far. Watling said it was the right time. It has been a great honor to represent New Zealand and especially wearing a Test baggie. Test cricket is really the pinnacle of the game and I love every minute of coming out with the boys in white.

He had said that after five days I would miss sitting with the team in a changing form with beer. I have played with some great players and made many good teammates. I have been of great help along the way for which I will always be grateful. BJ Watling is only the ninth wicket-keeper batsman to score a double century in Test cricket. He scored his first double century against England.
