Raja Farooq Haider Khan, the alleged Prime Minister of the so-called Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), has claimed that he was asked to remove the word Azad from the AJK. Along with this, he made it clear that he will not allow AJK to become a province of Pakistan. Let us tell you that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) has been given the name of Azad Jammu and Kashmir by some self-styled leaders. The alleged Prime Minister of AJK said that the AJK assembly has been established after many efforts and any conspiracy to make it a province of Pakistan will not be tolerated.
He also said that love and affection for Pakistan is in our blood, but no department above the AJK government will be acceptable to him and only they will decide the future of Kashmir. “We will lay down our lives but will not allow AJK to become a province of Pakistan,” Haider said. “We don’t want to say such things which affect the interests of Pakistan and that is why we are silent,” he said.
He also alleged that the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs had approached him with an offer of Rs 5 billion for AJK. On this, he said that there should be no restriction or balance on any project related to them by any government or any official and no one will be allowed to visit the projects.
Haider also alleged that today they say that India is too strong, so forget Kashmir and let us see something else. He said, “How will we forget Kashmir and why will we forget it? We will neither forget nor forget Kashmir. Let someone forget.” He also slammed the ruling PTI government of Pakistan and asked what would be the difference between Imran Khan and Narendra Modi if PTI snatched power in AJK.
He said that the position of India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue is not the same and should not be treated as the same. Haider also criticized Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi for claiming that he had a solution to Kashmir after the OIC meeting. Haider said, how can he alone decide the fate of Kashmiris without involving Kashmiris? Kashmiris will not accept any dictates and the fate of Kashmir can be decided only by the will of the people of Kashmir as per the UN resolution.
