Woman trapped in traffic jam while leaving President Kovind’s convoy, four policemen including sub-inspector suspended

Police Commissioner Aseem Arun said that President Ram Nath Kovind is hurt by the untimely demise of Vandana Mishra, the chairperson of the women’s cell in the Kanpur unit of the Indian Industry Association (IIA). The vehicle carrying Mishra allegedly got stuck in the stopped traffic on the Govindpuri bridge during the President’s visit on Friday evening. He was being taken to a private hospital in Kakadev. The Commissioner of Police personally apologized for the incident after getting information about the demise of the woman entrepreneur. Arun tweeted from his official Twitter handle, “Kanpur city police and I apologize for the passing away of IIA President Sister Vandana Mishra ji. These are great lessons for the future. We pledge that our route arrangement will be such that citizens are stopped for the minimum time so that such incidents do not recur.

Arun further informed that President Ram Nath Kovind has expressed grief over the untimely demise of Vandana Mishra. He called the police commissioner and the district officer and asked them to convey their condolence message to the bereaved family. The deceased’s husband Sharad Mishra told reporters on Saturday that he got stuck on the Govindpuri bridge while taking Vandana to the Regency Hospital in Kakadev. He said that he repeatedly requested the police to allow them to take the patient to the hospital, but they ignored them. We were allowed to leave only after the police opened the traffic, but on reaching the hospital, the doctors He (Vandana Mishra) was declared brought dead. Sharad Mishra claimed that doctors said that if the woman had been brought to the hospital on time, her life could have been saved.
