Uttarakhand avalanche: 384 people have been saved so far, 8 bodies recovered


Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat made an aerial survey of Sumana of Niti Valley where the glacier broke off yesterday. After the survey Tirath Singh Rawat said that the BRO is still at work.

Officials of the Border Roads Organization have left for the spot after receiving an avalanche notice. Border road organization A glacier has been reported to fall further from Sumana Chowki near Malari in Niti Valley in Chamoli district. However, due to snowfall, the area is unable to be contacted.

After the survey Tirath Singh Rawat said that the BRO is still at work. But their connectivity is broken. The snow has fallen too much. Many places block roads with snow. There is no damage to the surrounding village and cattle. Damage has occurred only on the road.

But sad news is coming in the midst of all this. Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar said that the camp of ITBP and Army is safe. The BRO was in operation at two places, there were about 430 people, out of which 384 people have come. The search for the rest continues. Giving sad news, he said that a total of 8 bodies have been recovered so far.
