Lucknow. In Bihar and Uttar Pradesh’s Purvanchal, a one lakh rupee prize crook, synonymous with terror, was killed in an encounter with police in Mau district in the early hours of Wednesday. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said that on receipt of the information, the police had besieged Lalu Yadav at around 3.30 am near Bhanwarepur in Sarai Lakhsi area of Mau district. During this encounter, Yadav was injured. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
He said that during the encounter Chiraiyakot Police Station President Avinash Kumar Singh, Inspector Rajesh Prasad Yadav, Sub Inspector Amit Mishra and Constable Vivek Singh were shot at but they all survived due to wearing a bullet proof jacket. Kumar said that the police recovered a pistol, some cartridges and a motorcycle from the spot. It is worth mentioning that Lalu Yadav, a prize crook of one lakh rupees, had a lot of terror in Purvanchal in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. He was charged with 82 cases, including the murder of RTI activist Bal Govind Singh in Mau district, as well as attempt to murder and robbery of Rs 2 crore in Jaunpur and murder of a security personnel and looting Rs 25 lakh.
