He said street protests should be avoided during the COVID-19 pandemic and that “making proper decisions on when to protest and when to communicate is the hallmark of a real leader.” He said, “A true leader is one who protects the community in terms of employment, education and health. The spread of the virus through a display of power is not correct. We are doing whatever we can for the matter legally. A review petition has been filed.” The Chief Minister said, “It is in the blood of Shiv Sena to take to the streets for a just and just demand. But we know that when there is unanimity and consensus on an issue, the protest should be stopped and dialogue should take its place.” “Some people are still protesting and it would be better not to talk about them,” he said.

The Chief Minister praised BJP Rajya Sabha member Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati for deferring his protest and agreeing to hold talks with the government on the issue of Maratha reservation. BJP is trying to corner the government on the issue of Maratha reservation in education and government jobs and political reservation for OBCs. On Saturday, the party staged a ‘chakka jam’ across the state for the restoration of OBC reservation in local bodies.
