This South African all-rounder stepped into international cricket from the T20 match against India in 2019.
Fortuin has become the second South African player to convert to Islam. In 2011, medium pacer Wayne Parnell also changed his religion. Talking about the career of all-rounder Fortuin, he made his debut in first class cricket in 2013. However, he was not able to make a memorable debut and he ducked in his debut. Not only this, he could not take a single wicket.
He was included in South Africa’s T20 squad for the T20 series against India in 2019. He made his ODI debut against England on 7 February 2020. Björn Fortuin represented South Africa in 7 T20 matches. In which he took a total of 6 wickets, while scoring 35 runs in five innings. He played his last international match for South Africa in a T20 match against Pakistan this month.
