New Delhi:

Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag has posted a funny meme on social media from the popular web series ‘Mirzapur’ to express his disappointment over India’s loss to New Zealand in the World Test Championship (WTC) final in Southampton. The meme shows lead actor Pankaj Tripathi in ‘Mizarpur’ – who plays Akhandanand Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya – scolding Anjum Sharma, who plays ‘Sharad Shukla’, an antagonist in the serial. Sehwag, India’s only Twin-Triple Centurion in Tests, captioned the meme, Aapse baechay sakte kiye hum (I had better expectations from you). Since then the meme has garnered over 52,000 likes.

Sehwag also congratulated Kane Williamson’s boys, who ended New Zealand’s two-decade-long ICC trophy drought. Sehwag, popularly known as Viru, tweeted a picture of the Kiwi captain with Ross Taylor and wrote, “Missed to be the 50-over champion 2 years ago in the same country, but won the inaugural World Test Championship in style, a lot.” Congratulations. Absolutely worthy champion. The Kiwi team was defeated by England in the final of the 2019 ICC 50 Over World Cup. The match dragged on to the super side.
