New Delhi. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Saturday welcomed the US decision to join the Indo-Sweden climate initiative and said it would help achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. The Indo-Sweden Climate Initiative is a group of countries that lead to industrial change (LEEDIT). Addressing the Digital Summit organized by the US on climate change, US President Joe Biden said that he is keen to work with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to achieve climate and energy related goals.
He had said that this would form a strong basis of bilateral relations between the two countries. The PMO then tweeted, “Welcome the US President on joining the India-Sweden Climate Initiative LEEDIT.” This will help us achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, increase competition and create new employment opportunities.
