The meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir ended at the PM’s residence in New Delhi, which lasted for about four and a half hours. During this meeting, 14 leaders of 8 political parties were involved. Along with this, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also joined. How important is this meeting in itself, you can guess from the fact that for the first time in the last almost two years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while extending the hand of talks with the political leadership of Jammu and Kashmir, discussed the future strategy of this union territory. To prepare the blueprint, an important meeting was held with the leaders there. In this meeting, there has also been talk about the contribution of political parties for the development of Jammu and Kashmir. All political parties wanted elections to be held there and full statehood should be given to Jammu and Kashmir. The process of granting full statehood will start only after delimitation. But the work of the Delimitation Commission is almost complete and the round of meetings is going on there. J&K should get full statehood soon: Ghulam Nabi Azad
After the meeting with PM Modi, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that in the meeting we put 5 big demands on behalf of the Congress in front of the government. The government should restore the status of the state soon. We also talked about settling Kashmiri Pandits in the valley in the meeting. The central government should conduct elections in Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest. In the meeting, most of the parties said that the issue of 370 is in the Supreme Court.

National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said that Prime Minister and Home Minister Amit Shah said in the meeting that we want Jammu and Kashmir to get full statehood at the earliest and elections should also be held there at the earliest. Describing the meeting, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that in the meeting, the PM said that there should be a partnership for development to reach everywhere in Jammu and Kashmir. The process of delimitation for the assembly elections will have to be completed expeditiously so that the political representation of each constituency can be obtained in the assembly. Discussions took place in the meeting regarding the participation of everyone in the process of delimitation. All the parties present in the meeting agreed to take part in this process. In the meeting, the PM also emphasized that all stakeholders have to walk together to maintain peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
