Gorakhpur. culture The online workshop of Awadhi/Bhojpuri traditional folk songs will start from July 1 with the aim of preserving the folk culture and folk tradition and introducing them to the new generations by the Department of Uttar Pradesh. The director of the workshop, folk singer Rakesh Srivastava said that in view of the corona infection, this workshop is being organized online which will run from July 1 to July 10.
A total of 42 participants from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Thailand, South Africa and Trinidad have registered free of cost for this workshop, which is likely to increase to 80-85. Men and women of any age can participate in this workshop who have interest in period/Bhojpuri folk songs. The workshop will run daily from 8 am to 9 pm. Such workshops have been organized by the Culture Department in the past which have been quite popular.
