One way of all the highways on Delhi’s borders was opened for emergency services. However, SKM alleged that the Delhi Police did not remove the blockers. Farmers have been protesting against the new agricultural laws for several months on the borders of Delhi.
New Delhi. United peasant front (SKM) said on Saturday that one side of the highways on Delhi’s borders has been opened to ensure uninterrupted movement of oxygen tankers and ambulances in the wake of the Kovid-19 crisis. However, SKM alleged that the Delhi Police did not remove the blockers. Farmers have been protesting against the new agricultural laws for several months on the borders of Delhi. SKM announced a few days ago that one side of the highway at the Singhu border would be opened to give way to vehicles carrying medical oxygen. It said in a statement that farmers have already opened up the one-way road on the borders of Delhi to emergency services in the national interest.
The SKM said that the volunteers on Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri and Shahjahanpur are continuously playing the role of Kovid-19 warriors and emergency services have been arranged at every border. It said that the Delhi Police has not yet removed the blockers and vehicles coming to and from Delhi are not facing any problem due to the performance of the farmers. The organization said that the farmers are helping the Kovid-19 warriors reach their destination. The statement said that SKM is encouraging farmers to maintain cleanliness at the demonstration sites with the help of farmer social welfare organizations and doctors.
