Indore Congress MLA from Madhya Pradesh Kalavati Bhuria died early Saturday while undergoing treatment for a corona virus infection in a private hospital. She was 49 years old. Family sources said that Bhuria was admitted to Shelby Hospital in Indore for the last 12 days. She represented the Jobat area of Alirajpur district in the Legislative Assembly. Medical Superintendent of Shelby Hospital Vivek Joshi said that Bhuria had more than 70 percent infection in his lungs.
Joshi said that Bhuria was also placed on life support system. But his condition continued to deteriorate and his life could not be saved. Bhuria was the niece of former Union minister and senior Congress leader Kantilal Bhuria. She became an MLA for the first time in her political career, winning the 2018 assembly elections.
