Three LeT operatives were arrested from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir. The spokesperson said that with the help of modern and scientific methods including CCTV footage and intelligence, the investigating officers identified the group involved in the crime.
Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir Banned from K Baramulla district Lashkar-e-Taiba Three accomplices of the terrorists have been arrested. Police said on Saturday that these arrests were made in connection with the recent bank robbery incident in the district. A police spokesperson said that on Thursday, the police had received information about the robbery at the Kher Sherabad branch of Jammu and Kashmir Bank. He said that a special investigation team was registered and a probe was being conducted. The spokesman said that with the help of modern and scientific methods including CCTV footage and intelligence, the investigating officers identified the group involved in the crime. He said that the security forces have arrested three accomplices of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba militants.
The spokesperson said that they have been identified as Rahil Ahmed Parre, resident of Kanihama, Arif Ahmed Mir, Mazhama resident and Nasir Ahmad Bhat of Singhpura. He said that during interrogation it has been revealed that these three people were also involved in the robbery in March in Grameen Bank Ogamuna, Grameen Bank Panjinara and Jammu and Kashmir Bank Chandipura and they ran away with cash of Rs 9,51,896. The spokesperson said the investigation revealed that the trio worked for local terrorists Yusuf Dar alias Kantru and Abrar Nadeem Bhat associated with Lashkar. He said the accused were also involved in the February 3,50,000 robbery at Budgam’s petrol pump and the killing of a person named Nasir Ahmad Khan in Buchipura Magam on 11 April. The spokesperson said cash was seized from them for Rs 24,500, China-made pistols, two magazines, 25 cartridges, two 12-bore rifles, three cartridges, multi-purpose knives, three PPE kits, weapon chains and three vehicles. He said that further investigation is being done in the case.
