It is very unfortunate to claim no death due to lack of oxygen: Mayawati

Lucknow. Bahujan Samaj Party President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Thursday reacted sharply to the central government’s claim that there were no deaths due to lack of oxygen in the second wave of Corona, calling it very unfortunate. The BSP chief, while targeting the central government through a tweet on Thursday, said that due to the lack of oxygen in India, especially in the second wave of corona, the central government had to take foreign aid to deal with it. It is not hidden from anyone, yet it is very unfortunate and very sad to claim that there are no deaths due to lack of oxygen.

He said that such false statements are also creating distrust in the public about the Center that what will happen if the third wave of corona comes ahead? Whereas the priority and responsibility of the central and state governments should also be 100 percent towards the public and less towards political and government interests. It is noteworthy that the Central Government on Tuesday informed the Rajya Sabha that during the second wave, especially the States and Union Territories did not report any death due to lack of oxygen.
