IPL 2021: Ravindra Jadeja gives Chennai Super Kings a fourth win, RCB’s first defeat

CSK had scored 191 runs for 4 wickets in the first play. In response, RCB’s team could only score 122 runs on 9 wickets. This is RCB’s first defeat in 5 matches. With the win, CSK’s team has reached the top of the point table. RCB has already come in second.

RCB started off fast to chase the target. Virat Kohli (8) and Devdutt Padikkal (34) added 44 runs in 3 overs. On the first ball of the fourth over, left-arm fast bowler Tom Karen gave the first blow to RCB by dismissing Kohli. Duplesey hit 5 fours and a six off 41 balls while Jadeja hit 4 fours and 5 sixes off 28 balls in a stormy manner. Opener Rituraj Gaikwad contributed 33 and Suresh Raina contributed 24 runs. Pacer Harshal Patel took the maximum 3 wickets for RCB but in his last over, a total of 37 runs were scored. In the final over of the innings, Jadeja scored 37 runs including 5 sixes in Harshal’s over. Due to this, the team was able to reach the score of 190. Yuzvendra Chahal got one wicket.
