National Security Advisor Ajit Doval attended a meeting of high security officials of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan. At the SCO meeting in Tajikistan, India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said that cross-border terrorism must stop. The NSA also talked about action against those who promote terrorists. The rules of the United Nations should be strictly followed. In his address, Doval also emphasized on monitoring of new technologies being used by terrorists. On the sidelines of the meeting, Doval held a meeting with Russian National Security Adviser Nikolai Patrushev for more than two hours. Sources said they discussed contemporary developments of bilateral, regional and global importance. In the meeting, Doval, referring to the developments in Afghanistan, said there was a need to maintain the achievements made in the last two decades and give top priority to the welfare of the Afghan people. He said that India fully supports the SCO Contact Group on Afghanistan and it should be more active. Doval said that India became a member of the organization in 2017, but it has physical, spiritual, cultural and philosophical ties with the founding countries of the SCO for centuries.
Let us tell you that Tajikistan is currently the President of the SCO. It is hosting a meeting of high national security officials of eight member states on 23 and 24 June. Pakistani National Security Advisor Moeed Yusuf and Afghan NSA Hamdullah Mohib also attended the meeting.
