Assam On Wednesday morning at 6.4 magnitude Earthquake The tremors were felt which led to large scale loss in the northeastern state. Officials said the tremors were felt across the region, including the neighboring state of Meghalaya and northern parts of West Bengal. He said that the earthquake struck Sonitpur district at 7.51 am. This was followed by two more tremors of earthquake at seven o’clock at 58 minutes and at eight o’clock one minute. These earthquake tremors were recorded to be of 4.3 and 4.4 magnitude respectively. Earthquake tremors were felt in most parts of the region and people came out of their homes and other places in panic. Several buildings cracked in Sonitpur’s district headquarters Tezpur, Guwahati and many other places. Detailed information regarding casualties is awaited.
