Maharashtra of corona virus in Delta Plus The first case of death from Swaroop has been reported and a senior official said on Friday that an elderly woman died of the disease at the Civil Hospital in Ratnagiri. Ratnagiri Additional District Magistrate Sanjay Shinde said the woman was a resident of Sangameshwar and was admitted to the hospital a few days ago, 330 km from Mumbai.

He said the woman’s death is being investigated to find out if she was also suffering from any other serious illness. Shinde said that the district authorities have been asked to create awareness as well as sensitize the people about following appropriate COVID related behavior. Meanwhile, the central government said on Friday that 48 cases of delta plus form of Kovid have been reported out of 45,000 genome samples that have been sequenced in the country and Maharashtra has the highest number of 20 of them.
