Just a week ago, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited Arunachal Pradesh where he dedicated 12 roads to the nation. During his address in Arunachal, the Defense Minister said that strategic roads promote connectivity as well as enable faster movement of security forces along international borders.
He said that the Border Road Organization is continuously laying a network of roads for the convenience of the people living on Pakistan and China and for the smooth movement of troops. According to the data tabled in the Parliament, work is going on on a total of 272 roads in the border states across the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Ladakh having maximum number of roads. According to the data, work is going on on more than 60 roads in Arunachal Pradesh. Continuous work is going on on about 60 roads in Jammu and Kashmir and 40 in Ladakh also. India’s effort is especially to speed up its construction work on the China border. On the other hand, China is constantly building infrastructure in its region. India is seeing this as a challenge for itself. In such a situation, India is also trying to strengthen its infrastructure.
