Nagpur. Former Home Minister of CBI Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh There is a raid on the residence of and at other places here. The raids are being conducted after registering a case against them on corruption charges.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sources said that an agency team reached Nagpur on Friday night and raids are being conducted since Saturday morning. Deshmukh’s house is in GPO Square in the Civil Lines area of Nagpur. He said that the CBI team can also visit Katol town of Deshmukh constituency, which is 60 km from Nagpur.
The CBI had registered an FIR against Deshmukh after initiating a preliminary inquiry on the Bombay High Court order investigating the allegations leveled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh. The CBI is also looking into several other locations in Mumbai apart from the complexes associated with Deshmukh. Deshmukh resigned from the post of minister earlier this month when the High Court asked the CBI to investigate the allegations against him.
