It is worth noting that when the incident took place around 12 o’clock on Wednesday night, two people died on the spot and five others including higher officials were seriously injured. In this case, now the officers of the police and commercial tax department are also investigating on this line whether this accident is an attempt made to save the courier company and the goods allegedly smuggling silver. Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Gaurav Grover said that Bittu, the driver of the pickup van which was being investigated in the said case, and Banwari Lal Sharma, the driver of the garbage truck that hit the truck, are being interrogated in custody. Bittu has told that the silver being carried in the pickup van was loaded by a person named Ravi from Moti Plaza located in Kinari Bazar, Agra. He does not know the weight of silver. He said that at present the police is probing the entire matter thoroughly and investigation will be done keeping in view every aspect of the matter.
The canter driver may also be in contact with the people in the silver-carrying van, and may also be an isolated person who, having actually taken a nap, accidentally collided with the pickup at the same time as it had arrived and The tax department team started investigating him. SP Rural Shrish Chandra said that the condition of the team’s in-charge Joint Commissioner Manoj Tripathi is said to be critical. They are in coma. They are admitted in Agra and the officers and employees of the Commercial Tax Department are taking care of them.
According to the officials of the Commercial Tax Department, this process was being carried out in a very secretive manner. Therefore, it appears from this incident that this was done only to influence the investigation. He said, under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Chauhan, three teams are working in different directions to unearth the incident. Surveillance is also being resorted to in this case and all the CCTVs on the way are being scanned and links are being searched for presence of both the vehicles or any other.
