Taking a big decision, the Modi cabinet has announced the creation of a central university for Ladakh. This university will be built in Ladakh at a cost of seven and a half hundred crores. After this big decision, the Prime Minister of the country tweeted that the decision taken by the cabinet today will ensure all-round development of Ladakh and will provide many opportunities to the dynamic youth there. It is to be known that PM Modi in his address on the occasion of last Independence Day had promised to set up a new university in Ladakh. After the decision of the cabinet, today Lt Governor of Ladakh RK Mathur also met Prime Minister Modi.

Approval for setting up a central university
The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to set up a Central University in the Union Territory of Ladakh at an outlay of Rs 750 crore. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information. After the meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Thakur said that the decision was taken in the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 750 crore will be spent on this. He said that setting up of a Central University in the Union Territory of Ladakh would help in removing regional imbalances in higher education and ensure all round development of the Union Territory.
Approval was also given for the formation of Development Corporation
The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal to set up an Integrated Multi-Purpose Infrastructure Development Corporation for the Union Territory of Ladakh. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information. Anurag Thakur said that this decision was taken in the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by PM Modi. He said that this corporation would act as the main agency in relation to infrastructure construction in Ladakh and would cooperate in infrastructure creation.
