According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry till 8 am on Saturday, the death toll rose to 3,94,493 as 1,183 people lost their lives in a day to this infectious disease. The number of patients under treatment has come down to 5,95,565 which is 1.97 percent of the total cases of infection. The number of people recovering is more than the number of patients coming daily for Kovid-19 for the 44th consecutive day. The number of people who have recovered from this disease has increased to 2,91,93,085. The mortality rate is 1.31 percent.
According to the data of the Ministry of Health, the national rate of patients recovering from the corona virus is 96.72 percent while the weekly infection rate has come down to 2.97 percent. The daily infection rate is 2.79 percent. It is less than five percent for the 19th day in a row. According to the immunization data released till 7 am, with the introduction of 61.19 lakh anti-Covid-19 vaccines in a day in India, the dose of vaccines given under the nationwide campaign so far has gone up to 31.50 crore. On Friday, 17,35,781 samples were tested for Kovid-19. With this, the total number of samples tested so far in the country increased to 39,95,68,448. The number of infected people in the country had crossed 20 lakh on August 7 last year, 30 lakh on August 23 and more than 40 lakh on September 5.

The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakhs on 16th September, 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October, 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November. In the country, these cases crossed one crore on December 19, crossed two crore on May 4 and crossed three crore on June 23. A total of 3,94,493 people have died in the country so far due to this epidemic. Of these, maximum 1,20,370 people died in Maharashtra, 34,539 in Karnataka, 32,051 in Tamil Nadu, 24,952 in Delhi, 22,381 in Uttar Pradesh, 17,551 in West Bengal, 15,956 in Punjab and 13,423 in Chhattisgarh. The Health Ministry said that out of those who have died so far, more than 70 percent of the patients also had other diseases. The ministry said on its website that its data is being reconciled with the data of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
