The Promoter and Managing Director of the company is Ashok Kheni, who is the MLA of Bidar South East. He has filed a case against Deve Gowda.

Statement given on 28 June 2011

Eighth Municipal Civil and Sessions Judge Mallangowda gave this direction on the suit filed by NICE. Deve Gowda gave an interview to a Kannada news channel on 28 June 2011 in which he has been accused of making derogatory statements against NICE and damaging the reputation of the company.

Hearing the same matter, the court has directed to impose a fine of Rs 2 crore against Deve Gowda. The Janata Dal chief had targeted the NICE project and called it a loot. To this, the court said that the project questioned has been upheld by the Karnataka High Court and the Supreme Court in their decisions.

Company’s project implementation will be delayed- Court

In its June 17 judgment regarding the company’s project, the court said that it is in the interest of the state. “If such derogatory statements are allowed to be made in future, it will certainly delay the implementation of this mega project in the larger public interest of the state,” the court said. The Court observed that it is necessary to curb such statements by issuing a permanent injunction against the respondent.
